Originally trained as a graphic designer, she is drawn to simple, geometric compositions. Her paintings often consist of elements such as squares, circles, ovals and hand or ruler drawn lines. Her intention is to draw viewers in with a bold first impression and then hold their attention with the subtly intricacies found in texture and multiple layers. For the most part, she begins her work without a clear idea of how it will look. It is the act of layering, scraping away and playing with color, composition and balance that unveils a welcome surprise. She influences the painting as much as the process influences her and eventually the finished piece reveals itself.
