Peacock (Sean Naftel & Chris Attenborough) - Featured Artist

PEACOCK is a collaborative project between artists Chris Attenborough and Sean Naftel. Born in the United State, both received their MFAs from the National University of Ireland Galway. PEACOCK has exhibited work in Ireland and Queens, NY as well as throughout the U.S. The duo was recently selected to participate in the following: Inaugural (e)merge Art Fair in Washington DC,  SEVEN Art Fair in Miami, Jordan Faye Contemporary and the Contemporary Museum in Baltimore. PEACOCK’s side project is Roving Project, a wandering gallery that occupies slack-spaces for short-term exhibitions. Currently Roving Project is presenting PLYWOOD, a white wall pop-up gallery in North Baltimore. Both artists currently work and live in Queens, New York

Hoong Yee Lee Krakauer - Guest Host

Hoong Yee Lee Krakauer is the Executive Director of the Queens Council on the Arts and oversees all programmatic and fundraising activities. She is the recipient of several awards from the Municipal Art Society, the Mayor’s Award for Culture & the Arts. Her honors include Cultural Leader of the Year of the Top Ten Women in Business in Queens and One of the Top 20 Movers and Shakers in Queens.

Hoong Yee has served on review panels for the New York State Council on the Arts, New York City Department of Cultural Affairs’ Percent for Art program, and the Rockefeller Foundation’s Jane Jacobs Medal jury. Hoong Yee serves on the boards of the Forest Park Trust, The Writers Room and Tony Bennett’s Exploring the Arts Foundation. She has recently been appointed to the New York City Cultural Affairs Advisory Commission.

Hoong Yee is a graduate of Oberlin College, attended the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and received a Masters of Music in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She is also an author, and her multicultural picture book for children, Rabbit Mooncakes, originally published by Little, Brown & Company, has been newly revised and released by Moonrattles.

As a lifelong Queens resident, she is a firm believer in the power of the arts to mobilize and transform community. She is married to a nice Jewish boy from Rockaway, Queens where they live with their three children, Mikki, Remy & Sky.
