This year the Egyptian Revolution was felt around the globe. People from different cultures, countries, religions and races watched in awe as history was made, many of us feeling the same powerful emotions as the Egyptians must have felt. In her piece, “Explosion,” Amy Wilson has layered small snippets of text, her personal thoughts which capture a universal sentiment: “I felt like there were a thousand explosions in the sky.”
While the subject of this artwork is the Egyptian Revolution, it also references a greater political message that every generation is confronted with - the need for change. The curators at COMPANY were especially passionate about this piece because of the over-arching message and magnetic exploding stars that are reminiscent to freedom.
The print's unique shape will make it a stand out to your collection.
